Can't Win7 SP1 sleep? Patching settings to solve

A month ago, the Windows 7 SP1 patch was released. This patch was mainly based on cumulative updates and bug fixes. However, as some people joked, SP1 fixes some bugs but brings other problems. For example, some users found that they could not put the computer into sleep mode after installing SP1.

The number of encounters with this problem is not much, but it is not just one or two. Soon, a member of the Microsoft Product Quality Group issued a document on TechNet confirming the existence of this problem.

Problem Symptoms

Windows 7 computers that can enter sleep mode and wake up normally. After updating to Windows 7 SP1, they may not enter sleep mode correctly (and may cause system death). The system is forced to restart by the power switch. After the restart, the error report that the computer was not properly shut down is displayed.

Workaround:

1. Install kb2495523 Patch

Go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2495523 Click View and request hotfix downloads at the top of the page. The patch.

2. If the above patch still fails to fix this problem, you can try the following methods:

Enter the control panel system and safe power options;

Click on the right side of the preferred plan "Change schedule settings";

Then click "Change advanced power settings";

find the "Sleep" option and expand, set "Allow mixed sleep" to "Off", and finally confirm exit .

Note 1: If you can't find the "Allow Hybrid Sleep" option, you need to start the command prompt as an administrator and enter "powercfg -h on" to enter this option.

Remark 2: According to some user descriptions on technet, set the "JavaScript Timer Frequency" under the last "Internet Explorer" in the above advanced power settings to "Maximum Power Savings", which can also be solved. Unable to enter sleep mode. However, this option will only appear after installing IE9. Users who have installed IE9 can try it.
