System protection is the ability to periodically create and save information about computer system files and settings. System protection also saves previous versions of modified files. Every seven days, if no restore points are created in the previous seven days, restore points are automatically created, but you can manually create restore points at any time.
Installing Windows drives will automatically turn on system protection. System protection can only be turned on for drives formatted with the NTFS file system.
