Win8 turns on security patches to automatically update

. By convention, Microsoft will release a new security update on the second Tuesday of each month, and will also issue an emergency patch if there are major vulnerabilities. If our Win8 system is in a non-automatic update state, it can only rely on manual update, which requires the user to know the information released by the patch at the first time, which is obviously unrealistic.

Microsoft Tuesday Patch
So the best way is to set the system directly to automatically update and install patches, so the system will automatically download the security patch and install it at the first time, no need for human operation. It will keep your computer in the latest and safest state.
The method of turning on automatic update is also very simple. First, we will slide the mouse to the lower right corner of the screen to bring up the Charm column, then select “Set”, then click “Control Panel” to enter the control panel.

Open Control Panel
In the Control Panel, we find and click on the "System and Security" option. In the new interface, you can see "Windows Update", the first category is “ Turn automatic updates on or off”.

Find Windows Updates
In the Windows Update Settings window, click on the drop-down menu to find “Automatically install updates (recommended)” One thing to note here is that this setting is limited to important updates. If we want to recommend updates and install them automatically, we need to check the following methods for receiving recommended updates and receiving important updates.

Select automatic installation of updates
Click to confirm that we have successfully set up automatic update of Windows. Is it very simple? With automatic update, we don't have to worry about important security patches being missed. We recommend that everyone can open this feature to make the computer more secure.
