Microsoft showcases "smart mirror" with facial recognition to display weather and other information

Computer store news: Microsoft recently displayed a “smart mirror” at the “Innovfest Unbound” technology show in Singapore, which has facial recognition function to display weather, date, time and geographical location.
Microsoft's smart mirror is called "Magic Mirror", which can recognize the face, greet the user, read the user's emotions, and display the weather and time. But from the outside, Magic Mirror seems to be no different from a normal mirror. Izzat Khair, a member of the Microsoft Singapore Developer Experience team, said: “Imagine: When you wake up in the morning, you can use this mirror to dress up and look at the weather. It is reported that Magic Mirror is equipped with a hidden facial recognition camera that recognizes 8 emotions of people, including anger, happiness and surprise. Microsoft also said that it will further strengthen the function of the mirror in the future, allowing it to display news from various apps, as well as content pushed by Facebook and Twitter. Kyle said that the product is still in the show stage, but has real commercial potential, especially in advertising and marketing. Kyle said: "Imagine: playing an advertisement on the display of the mirror, and the built-in camera can take pictures of the user who is watching the advertisement. The mirror's facial recognition function then provides the advertiser with real-time information about the user's reaction to the ad. Kyle also said that in order to ensure data security, the data processed by Magic Mirror will be stored on a private cloud, and Microsoft developers will not be able to access it. Moreover, these data will be deleted after 7 days.
