Microsoft will improve the Edge/IE11 experience for enterprise users in the Windows 10 First Anniversary Update.

Computer Store News: Microsoft Edge is the default Windows 10 browser, but many Windows 10 users are still using the Internet Explorer browser. On the Windows blog, Microsoft's Edge team detailed two new approaches that will enhance Edge and IE interoperability in enterprise applications.

Improve the switching experience: As a modern web browser, Edge can handle and render even the most data-intensive websites, while some websites still use traditional technologies that are not supported by Edge. For enterprise users, Microsoft will provide a prompt for users to go to IE to open the app. Now Microsoft skips the prompt and will switch seamlessly between IE and Edge, but users can still set it to receive prompts. Restricting the use of IE 11 Open the LOB website: Although Microsoft is providing Edge's seamless experience as much as possible, Microsoft is working to eliminate the company's reliance on IE. Microsoft also received feedback from consumers that Microsoft will introduce a new policy for corporate users in the Windows 10 Anniversary Update that will limit IE11 to only open sites on the approved list. This will make the Edge a new browser that is safer, more modern, and more scalable. This is a very brief overview, and Microsoft will implement this new policy in the next Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Microsoft is also pushing Edge to make it a viable alternative to IE. Look forward to Microsoft's launch of the new Windows 10 Anniversary Update Build.
