Microsoft detailed Windows 8 system security performance improvement

  

Windows 8 will include more security features to provide users with better security protection and protect end users from threats from the network. Microsoft has enhanced Windows Defender security to protect users from all types of malware, including viruses, worms, bots and rootkits.

Windows 8 will provide malware signatures via Windows Update, and Windows Defender will use file system filters for real-time monitoring and protection and interact with Windows 8's secure boot technology. If you are using a PC that supports UEFI Secure Boot (based on UEFI 2.3.1 specification), Windows 8 Secure Boot will ensure that all firmware and firmware updates are secure.
