And informally named Microsoft Windows 8 is just code

Steven Sinofsky, the head of Microsoft's Windows/Windows Live division, first called the next-generation Windows operating system in Windows 8 in the first half of the year. Whether it is Microsoft or the IT industry, everyone has made Windows 8 a Windows 7 successor. However, Windows 8 is not necessarily the official name of the next-generation Windows system. Currently, it is just a development code.

Although the name of Windows 8 has spread, many people think that Microsoft's next-generation operating system may not be so sloppyly named Windows 8, even Steven Sinofsky has pointed out many times that Windows 8 may not be the brand name of the next generation system.

In the latest article in the official blog of Microsoft Buiding Windows 8, the brand name issue was also mentioned, but the text suggests that Windows 8 exists more as a development code than the final brand name.

From the naming point of view, Windows 8 is too similar to Windows 7, and Microsoft has high hopes for the next generation of Windows, which is the revolution of the PC, the biggest change since Windows 95. In order to match this high hope, perhaps the next generation system will not simply be named Windows 8, and perhaps Microsoft will come up with a brand name that is as profound as Windows Vista.

With the in-depth development of Windows 8, perhaps Microsoft will soon tell you their final decision. But before that, do you have any good ideas? In your mind, Windows 8 should be named Why?
