Microsoft wants to cut down Windows8 system desktop gadgets

  

Microsoft revealed that Win8 will cancel support for desktop gadgets.
Win7 Desktop Widget no longer appears in Win8 system

Microsoft revealed that it will cancel the entry of the Windows Live Gallery website to access desktop gadgets. Microsoft supports the toolbar of the Windows Vista Desktop Gadget window, removes the Win7 toolbar window, but still retains Win7 desktop gadget support.

Microsoft Windows Live Gallery website statement: "Microsoft no longer supports the development or upload of new gadgets". Microsoft said that this is a more focused support for the latest version of Windows. It is not clear whether Microsoft will remove the Win8 desktop gadget feature or stop new gadget development support. The Windows Live Gallery website suggests that developers support the Win8 Developer Preview:
