How to adjust to UEFI mode after installing Win8

Each Win8 system has a boot mode, either BIOS mode or Win8 UEFI. This is already determined after installing Win8. But as long as you master the method, the Win8 system that was originally booted by the BIOS can also be changed to the UEFI system. Let's take a look at it:

How to adjust the UEFI mode after Win8 installation

1. First of all, we first install the Ghost Win8 system, here we have installed it;

2, then we have to set the boot mode to UEFI in the motherboard BIOS, here is not detailed The setup steps for each motherboard are different, but the key UEFI startup is similar. At this time, the hard disk can no longer be booted, and then use a PE that supports UEFI booting to enter the PE system (the latest computer store, Chinese cabbage, old peaches are supported)

3, enter the PE, format the boot partition ( Is a small partition of 100MB or 350MB. If not, do not format, on the hard disk to find a way to separate a 100MB FAT32 partition), be sure to choose FAT32 file system.

4, change the label, easy to identify (can be skipped)

5. After formatting is complete, open a command prompt and type the command: bcdboot D:\\Windows /s C: /l zh-CN /f ALL

This will fix the EFI boot partition. In fact, this also fixes the BIOS boot. If you change the BIOS boot, you can still boot successfully. This step is to copy the boot to the 100M hidden boot partition.

Note: In the above code, D is the partition where the system file is located (that is, the partition where Windows, Program Files, etc. are located), and C is the FAT32 partition. You must enter the corresponding drive letter according to your actual situation, otherwise it is It will go wrong.

The boot partition has been successfully repaired.

You can see that the boot file has been fixed.

Check out BCD, it's alright.

Restart, you can already boot.

The above is the introduction of how to adjust to UEFI mode after installing Win8. After setting up, check the Win8 startup mode, you will find that it has become UEFI.

Edit Comment: Why change to UEFI mode?

What are the six advantages of UEFI:

1, UEFI provides more disk capacity

The traditional MBR partition can only support 2.2TB hard disk and 4 primary partitions. One of the UEFI specifications, the GPT partition format, can support over one hundred terabytes of hard disk and 100 primary partitions, which is especially useful for users who use Win7. On the other hand, with the efforts of manufacturers such as ASUS, Gigabyte and Seagate, 32-bit systems + traditional MBR partitions can also use more than 2TB hard drives in the form of "virtual disks", but of course it is not as native support as UEFI+GPT. Save effort and worry.

2, UEFI provides higher performance

Traditional BIOS is customized for traditional 16-bit processors, low addressing performance, poor performance; and UEFI can be applied to any 64-bit The processor has a lot of addressing capabilities and excellent performance. To put it bluntly, it is to load more hardware and boot to Windows faster.

3, 64-bit new system has advantages

Starting with Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2003, as long as the 64-bit system can provide UEFI boot support, and XP system, 32-bit new The system can only be booted through the UEFI compatible module.

4, more convenient batch installation

The motherboard equipped with UEFI can be "broadcast" installation through the network, one image broadcast to install the operating system with multiple machines, for enterprise users It is especially convenient.

5, faster boot, hibernation recovery

Traditional BIOS uses Int 13 interrupt to read the disk, can only read 64KB at a time, very inefficient, and UEFI can read 1MB each time, Load faster. In addition, Microsoft's next-generation operating system, Win8, further optimizes UEFI support, which is said to enable instant boot.

6, safer boot

Before rumors, Win8 uses UEFI to limit the survival of Linux and other systems. In essence, this design is to prevent users from running unauthorized code. For better security, users can choose to turn off this feature if they don't feel it is needed.
