1. Registry Editing Method

Click the "Start" /"Run" command, open the system's running dialog box, enter the registry editing command "Regedit", click the "OK" button, open the system's registry editing window;

Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Classes\\CLSID\\{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E} registry branch (Figure 1) with the mouse, then use the mouse to select the InProcServer32 sub-item under the branch and use the right mouse button. Click it, execute the “Delete” command from the pop-up shortcut menu, and finally exit the registry editing window and restart the computer system, which will cancel the multimedia file preview function of Windows XP system.

This method is by means of the built-in Windows XP system "regsvr32 /u" command, directly related to the multimedia file preview function The dynamic link file is logged off, thus achieving the purpose of bypassing the multimedia preview function. Click the "Start" /"Run" command, open the system's run dialog box, enter the string command "Regsvr32 /u Shmedia.dll", click the "OK" button, the screen will pop up as shown in Figure 2. The prompt "DllUnregisterserver in Shmedia.dll succeeds" prompts that the system's multimedia preview function has been successfully logged out. If you want to use this function again in the future, you can execute the "Regsvr32 Shmedia.dll" command in the system running dialog box.

3, tool deletion method

4, system switching method

Because the Windows 98 operating system does not support the multimedia file preview function, in this system environment, any avi file that has not been run can be directly deleted. Therefore, according to this idea, we can find a way to switch the system to the Windows 98 operating environment to delete the avi file. For example, if your computer has both Windows 98 and Windows XP dual operating systems installed, then you may wish to restart the computer system, then press the F8 function key during the boot process to bring up the system boot menu and Select the "Windows 98" option. After the Windows 98 system is successfully booted, you can open the system's Explorer window, find the target avi file, and delete it directly.
