Win8.1 can't wake up from sleep solution

The sleep function of Win8.1 system is very practical, but there are also many users who say that Win8.1 can't wake up after going to sleep state, no matter whether it is click mouse or keyboard. Let's take a look at the corresponding solution.

1. Hardware support for sleep wake-up needs

First of all, it needs to be clear that sleep wake-up requires necessary hardware support, not that any computer supports sleep wake-up. Check if the hardware supports sleep wakeup. The following methods are available.

Use the Win+R key combination to start the "Run" window, enter CMD and confirm, open a command prompt window. After entering "ldcfg;powercfg -a”" and press Enter, you can see the results shown below.

As can be seen from the figure, there is a (S3) that can support sleep, indicating that the current computer supports sleep function.

Tip:

If your hardware does not support sleep, you may also get support for sleep by upgrading the BIOS. The specific upgrade can be verified by the motherboard model of the computer. By the way, most of the new computer hardware bought in the past two years can basically meet the requirements of computer sleep.

2. Update the driver to prevent “sleeping death”

If the device itself supports the wake-up function but there is no wake-up, then updating the device driver may solve the problem that cannot be woken up. .

Make sure the hardware driver is upgraded to the latest version and you can update your system with Windows Update. Use the Win+X key combination to select the “Search” menu item, type ““Windows Update” in the search box and press Enter. In the subsequent window, click “Check for Update” to start the check. If there is a new hardware driver, it will alert the installation.

You can also download the driver directly from the manufacturer's website according to the computer hardware configuration, and install it manually. Or use software such as the driver wizard to check for updates. Previous12Next page Total 2 pages
