What should I do when Windows 8.1 is idle when I am idle?

A friend's Windows 8.1 system has a small problem, and his computer shuts down when it is idle. This situation may be related to the improper setting of the power supply option, but it is still necessary to analyze the cause of the problem. Let's take a look.

Everything was normal before his computer. After pressing the power button a few days ago, due to temporary problems, I did not wait for the password to enter the Microsoft account interface. I went back after about 40 minutes. The display frequency is Black screen, but the light at the power button is bright, he pressed a lot of mouse, the display does not respond to any black screen, but can only press the power button again, this will restart (longer time).

After the boot, a hidden file desktop appeared on the desktop. After deleting it, it was found that after 5 minutes of idleness, the display screen was black. After a black screen, press a few mouse clicks to enter the password to re-enter Microsoft. Account, now about 10 to 20 minutes, the light at the power button will not light up, it will automatically shut down. After rebooting, the previously deleted desktop file appeared again, and the computer will automatically shut down after about 20 minutes of idle time. If the computer is always operating, there is no problem, just after the computer is idle, it will automatically shut down after about 20 minutes.

Solution

Check to make sure the hardware driver has been upgraded to the latest, if not, update the driver or reinstall the power management driver and motherboard driver.

1. Check if the mouse and keyboard device can wake up the computer:

Press “Windows Logo Key>+“X”+“P”Open Control Panel to Large Icon Type To view it. Open “Device Manager”.

Locate the item corresponding to your mouse or keyboard, right-click and select “Properties>;-&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& > 2. It is recommended that you try to turn off Quick Launch:

On the system desktop, left click on the system to bring the "Battery" icon in the lower right corner and select More "Power Options”.

The "Power Options" dialog box that pops up, click “Select the function of the power button”.

In the pop-up interface, some options cannot be changed. Click "“Change the currently unavailable settings".

The options that were previously unselectable can be changed. You can see the "Enable Quick Launch (Recommended)" option (the system is enabled by default), where you can set whether to enable or disable this feature.

3. Turn off Hybrid Sleep

Press "Windows Logo Key<+”X“+”P“Open Control Panel--Power Options--Select Power Plan--Balance /Energy/High Performance--Change Plan Settings--Change Advanced Power Settings--Sleep--Allow Hybrid Sleep--Change to “Close”. Save and exit.

Through the case, Xiao Bian feels that the stability of the current Windows 8.1 system is not enough, of course, the probability of an accident is not very large. If you have problems related to abnormal shutdown, you can first check if the power options are set correctly.
