Solve Windows 8 application download errors

The first step is to install the application. As shown in the figure, I want to install a game. After I start downloading, I will do other work. I also forgot to download the application. After a long time, I found a message on the store saying that the application could not be installed. The error code is: 0x80200024. After clicking Retry, it still cannot be installed, but the error code becomes 0x80080206.

Here is the meaning of each error code: 0x80200024 means the server has a problem, and 0x80080206 means the installation package is damaged. Other error codes can also be found at the relevant URL: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/hh973484%28v=vs.85%29.aspx

Find the cause of the error After that, I guessed why the application could not be installed: during the download of the application, the connection was interrupted (such as the network cable was lost, the wireless signal was lost, etc.), and the downloaded data was incomplete and could not be installed.

The problem is that it is easy to solve the problem. Microsoft provides an application troubleshooting tool, available at: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=268423 After the tool is downloaded and opened, you can perform system tests in steps. The interface is shown in the figure, in which the Windows Store application is selected and the next step is taken to detect the store application:

Wait a moment, it will detect the system settings, registry, etc., to be detected After that, you will be prompted to restart your computer, as shown in the following two figures.

At this point, clicking Next does not restart immediately. Instead, it displays the test results. As you can see, it detects that some of my files are corrupted and the graphics driver needs to be updated. After clicking Close, manually restart.

After restarting, the application still cannot be installed, and the error code becomes 0x80080207, which represents the application's verification error. Then cancel the download of the app in the store, we want to remove the part of the previous download error. Windows 8 itself also provides a tool to clean up the cache, press Win+R and type wsreset, and press OK.

After that, the app store will open, indicating that the cache has been cleared:

Then re-enter the store and select the app you need to download.
