How to clean Win8 system Metro application cache

The Metro app is a feature of Windows 8. The Windows 8 RP version has a lot more Metro apps than the previous version, such as PPTV, Fantasy, QQ Music, Potato, Fetion, and various game entertainment. However, these online video music will also generate cache. The Metro application does not have the software of the traditional desktop to provide the function of clearing the cache or setting the cache directory. As the usage time is longer, the cache directory is getting bigger and bigger, the computer will change the card, please see Here's how to clean up.

Clean up the Metro app cache

Show hidden files because the Metro app cache directory is a hidden folder. Explorer –> View –> Options –> View –> Check to remove “Hide protected operating system files”.

Open the Metro application directory: %userprofile%AppDataLocalPackages (shortcut Win+R, copy the path directly into the carriage return to determine).

Take Metro PPTV as an example: PPTV.PPTVHD_svvymaqds8vhmAC, delete the three folders INetCache, INetCookies, and IetHistory. The same is true for other Metro applications.

Dos command cleanup

If you feel that it is too much trouble to manually delete each time, you can create a batch command. Look forward to the future Win8 optimization software to increase the cleanup Metro cache function, or the official version of Win8 support to clean up the Metro application cache.
