How to solve the problem of disk drive number loss under Windows8 system

  
                                    

1. Use the shortcut key Win + X to open the system tool shortcut menu, select the disk management from it, as shown below:

2. Open the disk management window, as shown below:

3. From Locate the drive with no drive letter assigned to the disk list, right click on the partition and select “Change drive letter and path” as shown below:

4. Pop up the drive path change window. Click “Add”, as shown below:

5. In the “Add Drive Letter and Path” window, select the drive letter you want to assign to the partition or drive, click OK, as follows Figure:

Note: Only unoccupied drive letters can be assigned at this time. If the drive letter is occupied by another partition, the drive letter must be deleted before it can be reassigned.

6. Add a drive letter Click OK, the following prompt will pop up at the top right of the screen:

7. After clicking the prompt, you will be prompted to open the drive using Windows Explorer. As shown below:

8. Turn on the computer, you can find the previously lost partition or drive, the problem is solved.
