When connecting to the network for the first time in the Win8 system, the display name is “Network 1”, disconnected and connected again, displayed as “Network 2”, and so on, the serial number will be incremented after each reconnection. Br>

Although we can't directly modify the network connection name like the Win7 system, we can rename the network by modifying the corresponding key values ​​in the registry.

*The following operations involve registry modification. Please back up the registry before execution (“file”<“export”, save to local computer; pass “file”< ;“Import ” can restore the registry)

1.Press "ld";Win”+“R”, enter:“Regedt32.exe”, press Enter;

2. Open to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionNetworkListProfiles

3. Profiles” This item may contain multiple sub-items, and the name is a sequence of numbers and letters. We click on each sub-item and check the "data" column corresponding to the key value of the “ProfileName” in the right window. As shown in the figure above, the "Profile" child"{2F651CBF-FF80-41F6-A03F-1C924C3F5FEF}“corresponding value is "network 1" (current network name), which is the key value we need to modify; Br>

4. Double-click “ProfileName”, change the “Value Data” column to "network" (the name you want to change);

5. Restart after completing the above operation Computer so the changes take effect.
