Knowledge point analysis:

When we need to back up important files, most of them will choose to copy the files to a USB flash drive or a mobile hard disk. If the network speed is good, you can also back up to the cloud. These two methods are very safe and simple, but if we back up important documents, such as a report or report, and modify it one day, we may forget to update the data in the backup at the same time. It's more difficult to operate. If we update the data in the backup in time, but sometimes we feel that it has been more suitable without modification. This is even more troublesome, which means that the backup is very easy, but I want to retrieve some time period before. One or more data, there will be no way to start, we need a software that can update the backup data in time, Windows built-in file history can help us.

Operation steps:

1. Place the mouse in the lower right corner---Call out the super button---Select Settings---Control Panel---System and Security---File History ;

2. The file history function is turned off by default. Click Start to open it. The first time you need to select the drive, you can select the external drive (mobile hard disk or USB flash drive) and network location. Create a family group, and then back up the files to the hard disk of other members of the family group. Since the author does not set up a family group, only the related functions of using the USB disk are displayed here, and the use of the network is similar.

3. Unfortunately, the file history does not support the active selection of the drive folder, only supports linking to the library, but in fact, we can associate the files that need to be backed up to the library, the default is to back up all Files in the library, if we don't need to back up a lot of useless HD video or music files, you can select unnecessary library files in the exclusion folder, and remove a lot of unimportant video files.

4. Click Run now to back up the library file. The speed depends on the size of the files in your library. The first time is slow. Now the file history is showing that your file copy is being backed up. Removing the USB flash drive will destroy your backup data, wait patiently for a while, and the backup will be completed.

5. At this time we open the USB flash drive and we will see the following folder. The xml file in Configuration is the layout management of the backup data. We don't need to understand this part. The data we backed up is saved in the Date folder. We can read the file in it, but it is very troublesome, we can Retrieve the backed up data by restoring personal files in the file history.

6. Click on the restore personal file in the left column, you will see an interface that can be selected from left to right. Every time we change the files in the library, the system will automatically update the default time frequency. Data, 4/4 means that I have made 4 changes to the file. Every time the data is saved, if we want to restore any of the data, click the green button to restore the file.

7. Select a time period here to restore the data.

8. If a large number of files in the data have not been changed, the system will skip this part, thinking that it takes a lot of time to complete the recovery, skipping these items, and quickly completed.

9. In the advanced settings, you can change the frequency of saving files in the system. The default is one hour. Of course, if we need to update now, we can also update it manually. You can also change the size of the offline cache, the saved version, and select the default settings.

In short, the file history, not only can back up the data, but also the function of the time machine, we can choose the data to recover in a certain period of time, which is similar to many mobile phone address book assistants. It is convenient to select data from a certain period of time in the past to recover.
