Manually retrieve the Win8.1 system start menu

As we all know, Microsoft has boldly changed the classic start menu button in the Win8 system; although the menu returns in the Win8.1 system, it is not the original classic. This has created a lot of third-party start menu software. However, today's Xiaobian share the introduction method is not to use the third-party software to find the start menu button, but to achieve the start menu regression by simply creating a shortcut.

1. Go to the Computer (My Computer) Explorer and switch to the "View" panel and check the "Hidden Items" button. At this point we can see the ProgramData folder hidden by the system. Below we need to use this folder to help us create a simple shortcut menu button;

2. Go back to the traditional desktop state, right click in the taskbar, select “New Toolbar”Options in the toolbar;

3. In the window of “New Toolbar”, navigate to the path of C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWindows and select the folder of “Start Menu”;

4. After selecting this folder, you can take effect immediately without restarting. You will see an option at the bottom right of the task, “Start Menu”, click to see all the devices in the machine. Installed software application folder.

Although the start menu button retrieved by this method is primitive, not very beautiful; but the advantage is better than the need to install a third party software application. Users who like simplicity can try this way to get back to the classic start menu.
