When you are officially buying genuine or have an installation CD that already has Windows 8.1, this article will take you step by step through the new installation of CD to upgrade to Windows 8.1. The disc image used can be obtained from a Microsoft MSDN subscription account or a TechNet subscription account or a third party website.

1. After inserting the system installation CD into the CD-ROM drive (or connecting the U disk to the computer), press the F12 key to call up the boot menu and select the installation media according to the situation; CD boot, Figure 2 for USB and other installation media boot, USB recommended to choose Legacy mode)

2. Continuously hit the Enter key on the keyboard (Enter) twice, waiting for the installation interface, click directly <;Next>;

3. Select "Install Now";

4. Enter the 25-digit product key and click Next;

5. First check the “I accept the license terms” and click “>Next”;

6. Click Next to select the custom installation;

7. Check the unassigned disk , click “New”;

8. Enter the size of the partition you want to create. It is recommended that the system partition size be 50G, click “Apply”. Please note: There is data risk in operating the hard disk. When you confirm that there is no important data in the hard disk or have been backed up, then format the hard disk partition. In order to avoid loss of property caused by data loss;

9. Click on the pop-up window to confirm & rdquo; determine & rdquo;;

10. Click “Next”;

11. Waiting for installation, this process lasts for about 10— 20 minutes;

12. The computer starts to restart;

13. Enter the computer name, and then click “Next”;

14. Click “Use Quick Settings 

15. If there is a wireless network, you will be prompted to connect to the network, as shown in the figure:

16. If you can connect to the network, then Will enter the Microsoft network account creation; (Figure A)

If the system does not successfully connect to the network, select “Create local account"; (Figure B)

17. Computer "Hello", wait a moment;

18. Start the UI interface, click on "Desktop" to enter the Windows traditional desktop;

19. At this point Windows 8.1 new installation is complete .
