Smart Switch Win8 Input Method

In Win8, the pre-installed input method is not a small change compared to the previous input method. Although comparing third-party input methods is still not perfect, it is also sufficient in daily use. In Win8, not only the Chinese input is optimized, but also a more convenient setting for the input method switching —— separately set the input method for different programs.

Select “Advanced Settings> in Control Panel - Clock, Language and Region - Language.

Check "Allow me to set a different input method for each application window" and click Save.

After setting up, we create two new text documents for testing. Switch to the English input state in the first active text document, then open the second text document and find that it is still not in Chinese.

Switching the active window to the first text document, the input state is restored to English:

Let's compare the situation before the setting: the same is two text documents, when setting one of them After that, switch to another text document and the input status does not change with the change of the active window.

The setting of this input method is effective not only for switching between input methods, but also for switching between Chinese and English within the input method.

However, when the program is closed and the program is opened again, the input method will switch to the default input state, and the previous settings will no longer be recorded.

With such a setting, it is convenient to quickly enter the working state in different windows. For example, if the command prompt needs to be English, the other side is chatting with others; or in English writing, you need to use a dictionary to translate Chinese into English. After this simple setting, you do not need to switch the input method again after switching the active window. Very convenient.
