In Win8, the 64-bit version of IE10

is used by default.

In 64-bit Windows 8, Modern IE10 uses 64-bit by default (the previous Metro style is now renamed to Modern), because IE10 in Modern cannot install any plug-ins, only the default installation. The Flash plugin. For the desktop version of IE10, the default operation is 32-bit because of the plug-in. If you want to open the desktop version of 64-bit IE10, you can refer to the following steps.

1. Open the desktop version of IE10, click the gear button and select Internet Options;

2. Go to the Advanced Settings tab in the Open Internet Options window;

3 Scroll down and find the Enable Enhanced Protection Mode* option;

4. Check the option and click Apply → OK, then restart your computer.

After rebooting, you can use the desktop version of IE10's 64-bit mode, but this may cause some IE plug-ins to not work properly, and may even cause Internet Banking to be unusable. If you don't have any requirements for plugins, the 64-bit version of IE10 will be better than 32-bit.
