1. Do I need to check for updates?

If you use automatic updates, there is no need to check for important and recommended updates at all. “Windows Update> will check for these updates and install them when they are available.

If you don't use the automatic update feature, you should check for updates at least once a week. We usually release important updates every month. However, general updates may be posted at any time.

Regardless of your settings, some updates are not automatically installed. This includes optional updates and updates that require you to accept the new terms of use. When these updates are available, "Windows Update" will notify you that these updates can be installed.

Steps to Check for Updates

1. Note: You may need to restart your computer to complete the installation of some updates. Please save and close all files and applications before rebooting to avoid losing any data.
