Windows 8 add or remove device tips

In Windows 7 and earlier Windows XP operating systems, adding or removing hardware devices was done through <;Device Manager", and Windows 8 additionally provided a completely new way to add or remove Various equipment. Open & ldquo; computer settings & rdquo; In fact, Windows 8's "Device Manager" is still retained, the old users can still find it in the "Control Panel", and the new users are now using It is the latest "Computer Settings" interface for Windows 8. Move the mouse arrow to the top or bottom of the rightmost side of the screen. This is a transparent menu on the right side of the screen, click on the bottom setting icon. In the pop-up settings interface, click on the bottom of the "Change PC settings" option. This enters the computer settings interface. Then click on the device option in the left menu to see a list of the various hardware devices connected to the current computer on the right (Figure 1). Adding and installing a new device Normally when a user connects a new device to a computer, Windows 8 automatically detects and installs it. If Windows 8 does not find the appropriate driver, the user can download and install it from its manufacturer's website. However, there are some exceptions. When a new device is installed on a computer, Windows 8 cannot automatically detect it, such as a wireless network printer. In this case, the user needs to manually install the device. First, make sure the device is connected to your computer and turn it on. Click the “Add Device" option at the top of the device list. Windows 8 will automatically search for the device. After a few seconds, the discovered device will be displayed. Then click on the device you want to install and go to the installation driver process. The process time depends on the size of the data in the driver. When the progress bar is finished, the device is installed. Tip: You won't see all the hardware devices in this device list, such as boards, hard drives, CD-ROM drives, etc., which display external devices such as monitors, printers, scanners, mouse and keyboard, mobile phones, flash memory, etc. You can even display the Xbox 360 game console connected to your computer. Deleting an installed device In the list of hardware devices, when you click on a device with the mouse, a minus sign appears on the right side of the device, and then click the minus sign. Windows 8 asks if you want to delete the device. (Figure 2) Click the “Delete” button and the device will no longer appear in the device list after the process is over. Summary On a computer with Windows 8, using the “Computer Settings' interface, adding or removing devices will be very easy. However, it also has the disadvantage that the types of devices displayed and the setting options are not as rich as the device manager, nor can they be configured to work. It is said that Microsoft will provide Windows 8 applications later, and then it will help PC settings to be more user-friendly.
