Why is Windows 8 higher performance and lower system requirements?

Windows8 blog today dispels doubts for users, how to make Windows8 have higher performance, but saves memory usage. This is not "all the horses running fast, but also the horses do not eat grass", then, how is Microsoft doing it? The author is Bill Karagounis, Microsoft Project Manager.

Windows development team, the improvement of Win8 for this problem is as follows: merging shared memory between processes; loading system services according to actual needs; loading traditional desktops only when needed, this can save 23MB of memory; Use settings such as "high and low" priority.

One of the factors that made Windows 7 a huge success in the market is that it can reduce memory usage compared to Windows Vista, even if it's not faster. Considering old devices and netbooks, less memory usage leads to a better experience.

Windows8 will continue this fine tradition. At the build conference, Microsoft Windows giant Steven Sinofsky has published a screenshot of the relative comparison between Windows 7 and Windows 8 task managers. You know, this netbook was used to show Windows 7 Pre-beta three years ago. In contrast, it will reduce the use of nearly 120MB of memory.

The test flow is to run Windows 7 and Windows 8 on a machine with 1 Gbyte of memory (the minimum requirement of the system), then restart it multiple times, idle for a while, and then observe the data. The test results also verified that the soft media originally broadcast the same, Windows8 hardware requirements will be lower than Windows7.
