Disable automatic USB installation using Win7's unique features

Everyone knows that when a USB device is plugged into a
computer
host, the system will prompt that the device is ready for use. This process is actually the process of the system identifying and installing the driver for the USB device. Therefore, we can use Win7's unique permission control function to prevent it from automatically identifying and installing the driver, so that the purpose of controlling the source can be achieved.

Operation steps

1, first enter "X:\\Windows
\\inf” directory (X: the partition letter of Win7), respectively, find "usbport" .PNF” and “usbstor.PNF” these two files, and then set the corresponding "group or user" attribute security permissions to "reject".

2, right-click on the "usbport.PNF” file, in the pop-up dialog box, switch to the "Security" tab, click the "Edit" button, and then the system default The group or user <;SYSTEM>;<;full control" permission is set to “reject” (as shown).

Tip

This method can control the self-installation of USB devices from the source, but when you plug the device into the host computer, the system will be installed. Dumb & rdquo;, do not respond to your insertion behavior. Therefore, Master Dong suggested that you can upgrade the permissions for your favorite users to get the “Full Control” permission, while the normal user permissions are modified to reject, thus achieving a flexible effect.
