Three easy ways to solve IE7 or IE8 can not access FTP

IE7 or IE8 significantly improved compared to IE6, but there are advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that the security is much improved. The disadvantage is that many LAN users cannot directly use the commonly used FTP service. Below I use IE7 as an example to provide you with three ways to solve this problem.

Operation Method

Open IE7, click on Tools in the menu bar, find Internet Options, click on the Advanced tab, check Use passive FTP (for firewall and DSL modem compatibility), after confirming Close the browser and it will take effect when you turn it on again.

Modify it through the registry. Win+R key, enter regedit to bring up the registry editor, find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\InternetExplorer\\Main\\FeatureControl\\FEATURE_INTERNET_SHELL_FOLDERS and change the value of the iexplorer.exe item to 1.

With the ftp tool, this is also the most secure method. Because the above two methods can access ftp many times can only be on the windows2000 server server, but the windows2003 service provider's ftp service in Windows2003 after some patches, IE direct access to ftp is impossible, only through tools access.
