A trick to group the Windows desktop icon

Windows desktop icons (that is, shortcuts) are a kind of love and hate. Love is really convenient when you need them. The hate is that the icons will affect the cleanliness of the desktop. Children with obsessive-compulsive disorder will look very uncomfortable. I believe that many of my friends have experienced the pains of manually adjusting the position and style.

Small editor secretly tells you a trick. In the Windows 8/10 system, Microsoft sneaked into the shortcut key combination that is convenient for managing desktop icons. Using them will make it easy for them to tune these guys. By the way, interested children's shoes can also click here to review the other magical effects of the Win key.

啥? What do you think is useless? Ok, let's first take a look at what we can do without the shortcuts. Click the mouse on the desktop and see no? Only the options for the three icons are available here.

With the combination of Ctrl+Alt+number keys, you can switch the desktop icons between the eight styles, and the Ctrl+Alt+6 mode can also be sorted quickly, which is more convenient.

In addition, there may be a lot of children's shoes that will feel that the Windows desktop icons are too close or too far away from the default location, and I want to make the icons more loose or tighter. At this time, we can implement it by modifying the form of the registry.

The actual operation is very simple, press Win+R to open the run, enter regedit to enter the registry editor.

Locate and expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Control Panel\\Desktop\\WindowMetrics in the registry. The string value named IconSpacing on the right side of this option determines the horizontal spacing between desktop icons. Its specific algorithm is: string value ÷ (-15) = pitch pixel value.

For example, the default value of this string is -1155, which means that the horizontal spacing is 75 pixels (-1125÷ (-15)=75). We just need to modify it to the value we need, such as 100 pixels to change the IconSpacing value to -1500.

Next, we need to modify the value of the IconVerticalSpacing string in the same way, which represents the vertical spacing between desktop icons.

After modifying these two values, restart the computer, then right-click on the desktop, uncheck "Allow the icon to align with the grid" in the view, and then re-tick. At this point, you will find that the spacing of the desktop icons has become larger.
