Purpose: Limit the number of times to enter the power-on password, lock the computer, and protect the computer.


Steps:


1, Start---Run (Enter gpedit.msc)---OK or Enter to open the local Group Policy Editor;



2, in the open local Group Policy Editor window, we expand: Computer Configuration---Windows Settings---Security Settings;



3, then we will expand the security settings Account policy, find the account lockout policy under Account Policy, and left click on "Account Lockout Policy>;



4. In the right window corresponding to the account lockout policy, we left click on &ldquo ; Account Lockout Threshold ;



5. In the Account Lockout Threshold Properties window, we limit the number of passwords to 5 times. If 5 passwords are entered incorrectly, the computer will be locked (the number of entries is changed by We decide by ourselves), and then click "Apply";


Description: This security setting determines the number of failed login attempts that caused the user account to be locked. This locked account cannot be used until the administrator resets the locked account or the account lockout time expires. You can set the number of login attempt failures to a value between 0 and 999. If you set the value to 0, the account will never be locked.



6. After clicking the application, a suggested value change window pops up. If you enter the password incorrectly 5 times, you will be able to enter the password again after 30 minutes; if we want to reset the account lock counter, It will take 30 minutes to execute. Click OK;



7, back to the account lock threshold property window, we click OK;



8, return to the local group policy editor window, visible:


Account lockout time 30 minutes


Account lockout threshold 5 invalid logins


Reset account lockout counter 30 minutes later


Exit the local Group Policy Editor.
