What should I do if the winxp system cannot install new fonts?

I used the xp system. After the installation was completed, I found that there was no small mark, so I downloaded the small standard font, and copied the font to C:\\WINDOWS\\Fonts, but it did not pop up. ” Tips, check the font in the word does not show the installation is successful! After hard work, I finally summed up a fool-like approach to solve this problem without reinstalling the system. It didn't look like it was before the restoration.

1. Add two attributes to the C:\\WINDOWS\\Fonts folder, read-only & rdquo;, “system”, as follows: Start->Open->Enter cmd -> Point OK -> Enter cd /d C:\\WINDOWS\\ Go to the windows directory ->, then enter attrib +s +h +r Fonts. At this time, check if the Fonts folder has the following situation as shown in Figure 1. If it appears, it means that it has been fixed, otherwise continue the second step.

2, check if there is C:\\WINDOWS\\Fonts\\desktop.ini file, desktop.ini directly in the fonts folder because hidden may not be found, also the settings display to view all hidden files, I introduced a simple method: directly in the address bar of my computer, enter the file path C:\\WINDOWS\\Fonts\\desktop.ini pop-up file, it means there is, there is no existence. See below.

3. If the desktop.ini file is popped up, set its file property to read-only and hidden. After this step, it will succeed, and then paste the small-character Chinese character into the Fonts folder. Check it out, if the installation prompt pops up, it means success.

4. If the desktop.ini file is not popped up, it means the file is corrupt. Regenerate the file as follows: New Text Document -> Enter
Copy Content to Clipboard [.ShellClassInfo]

->Save as desktop.ini -> Copy to the Fonts file and change the properties to read-only and hidden.

How to change the attribute: Right-click on the file -> Properties -> Check the read-only, tick-hide and save.

Let's try again. Copy the font one in the Fonts file and see if the third step of the installation prompt appears. Under normal circumstances, it should be fine at this point. If you can't solve it, you can refer to the information of the masters.
