Continue to use the expired version of Win10 (pre-build 10240 version) or what are the consequences?

In an effort to ensure that Windows Insider members are not stagnant and to test the latest version of Windows 10, all Insider preview versions have a built-in expiration date. Versions prior to 10240 will expire on October 15.

For versions spread between January 9th and July 23rd, the expiration date is October 15th, and users of versions 9826 and 10166 before this date should update to the new version. Build 10166 is also the last version before the Windows 10 RTM version (build 10240) was pushed to the Insider member, so users upgrading to the RTM version can rest assured that it will not expire.

The RTM version is currently supported, but it will slowly become an outdated version. Since July 29th, some new versions have appeared, the latest version is 10565 pushed today, the latest version provides Skype integration, smarter Cortana, Microsoft Edge tab preview and Windows 10 UI improvements.

The consequences of continuing the use of win10:

Once the expiration date arrives, the PC will be considered an informal installation and forced to restart every three hours. After two weeks, the machine will refuse to start.
