Win10 official version upgrade to 89% computer automatically restart after the hard drive data is lost, what should I do?

One user said that they had a problem upgrading Windows 10 and the computer became unavailable. These consumers got an error message after completing the upgrade and were told that their computer "lack of operating system". Some users also said that after the upgrade was completed, the computer hard drive reported that nothing was on the hard drive.

Randy Keith, the digital editor of the Bay Area News Group, also encountered this failure. He tried to upgrade the Asus ZenBook laptop that had been in use for three years. The laptop was running Windows 7 before. Finally, Keith took his computer to the Microsoft store in Palo Alto, hoping to diagnose and solve the problem. The solution given by the Microsoft store is to send the computer for repair and try to recover the data on the hard drive, or reformat the hard drive and reinstall Windows 10.

He chose the latter option, but then came across the second question. Microsoft no longer recognizes that he has a license to use Windows, which means he can no longer use its online services such as OneDrive.

In addition to Keith, there are still many consumers who have encountered this problem. In the fault section of the official Microsoft forum, about 25 users claimed to have encountered the same problem. On the stand-alone Windows 10 forum, one of the posts about Windows 10 failure attracted more than 30 users' replies, and they all encountered the same problem.

One user said: "The upgrade process has been going very smoothly. When the installer reaches about 89%, the computer restarts. During the reboot process, the BIOS interface has a black screen and ‘ lack of operating system & rsquo; prompts. & rdquo;

The Microsoft representative refused to respond to questions about how many users were affected by this problem or which type of computer might be affected by this problem. He advises users who encounter this issue to contact a Microsoft Customer Support Representative.

The representative of Microsoft said: "Most users can upgrade smoothly, but some applications or devices may have incompatibility issues, but over time, such incompatible applications or devices will Fewer and fewer. ” Among the users who encountered this failure, some users use ASUS computers, and many users use laptops with flash drives or solid state drives.

Microsoft released the Windows 10 system last week, which was praised for addressing the shortcomings of the Windows 8 system, but was also criticized for adding privacy and security risks.
