Can I downgrade to Win7/Win8.1 after upgrading Win10 for free?

Windows 10 will be officially launched in the next ten days. I believe many people are already eager to upgrade to experience Microsoft's next-generation operating system as soon as possible. After all, Windows 10 has a good reputation. Then can you downgrade to Win7/Win8.1 after upgrading Win10 for free? This is a problem that many users are more concerned about.

In this regard, foreign media disclosed that OEM partners including Dell and Lenovo will provide flexible services including upgrade/downgrade for large enterprise users. But for individual users, they only have one month after getting Windows 10 to decide whether to continue using or downgrade to the old system.

Data from NetMarketShare, Windows 7 is still the dominant player in the desktop PC market, with a global market share of 61% in the desktop PC space. Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 are only 15% combined, followed by 1.6% of Windows Vista.

Enterprise users who are planning to purchase Pro Pro licenses do have the flexibility to upgrade and downgrade, but other Windows consumer users, as well as some SMB users, may face some limitations.

At present, Microsoft has not officially disclosed the details of the Windows 10 downgrade policy, and has not confirmed the above mentioned information, so users can get free Windows without re-purchasing the license. 10 downgrade to Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 remains to be verified.
