How can Win7/8.1 users remove the Win10 free upgrade prompt this notice?

A lot of Windows 7/8.1 users earlier today said they received a free upgrade notification from Microsoft Windows 10, which indicates that the new system is not far from the official release.

But some users have found that if you don't subscribe to the Windows 10 free upgrade service, the notice will appear repeatedly, affecting your mood. So is there any way to remove this notification? The answer is yes.

It is understood that Windows 10 upgrade notification is implemented by a patch numbered KB3035583, which can open additional Windows Update update notifications on Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 SP1 systems.

So, if you don't want to see the Windows 10 upgrade prompt again, then go to Windows Update and uninstall the KB3035583 patch.

In addition, there is an upgrade assistant program named "GWX.exe" in the system, located at C:\\Windows\\System32\\GWX.

It is worth mentioning that if you turn on Windows AutoUpdate, it is likely that the KB3035583 patch will be installed again, because Microsoft has set the patch level to "Important".
