What is the difference between the seven versions of Microsoft Win10? Win7/Win8.1 free upgrade professional version

On May 14th, Microsoft has announced all types of SKU versions of the Win10 system: Home, Pro, Enterprise, Education, Mobile, Mobile Enterprise and IoT Core. Microsoft also announced the version types of Win7/Win8.1 (WP8.1) users who can upgrade for free: Home, Professional and Mobile.

Win10 Home Edition: Contains common features such as voice assistant Cortana Xiaona, Edge browser, Continuum tablet mode, Windows Hello biometric system and all other built-in applications.

Win10 Pro: Includes all home features, targeting small business users, helping target users manage devices, applications, and protect sensitive data. Among them, “Windows Update for Business” allows IT administrators to arrange the way and time for their subordinate computers to install updates.

Win10 Enterprise Edition: Targeting large and medium-sized enterprises, providing greater security and control. This version is available to volume license users. The most important point is that it will provide the option to access long-term service branches for machines that deploy “critical tasks”.

Win10 Education Edition: Targeted at universities and other school users, it is also licensed through volume licensing. It is worth noting that Microsoft said that students and schools using Win10 Home and Professional have a special way to upgrade to the Education Edition.

Win10 Mobile: Targets small mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones. This version supports universal applications and includes the Win10 touch-screen version of Office. Microsoft said that this version will include the Continuum tablet mode, but whether it can be enabled or not depends on the support capabilities of the device itself.

Win10 Mobile Enterprise Edition: Targeted at companies that need to manage a large number of Win10 mobile devices. This version is also licensed through volume licensing and adds new security management options that allow users to control the system update process.

Win10 IoT Core Edition: Targeted at small, low-cost devices, focusing on the Internet of Things.

The official version of Win10 will be officially released this summer, and the pricing of each version has not been announced. Genuine Windows 7/Windows 8.1 users can upgrade to the corresponding version of the system for free in the first year after Windows 10 is released. For new users, the Win10 pricing issue has become the focus of the next focus.
