How to use partition expansion volume in win7 system disk management?

How to manage disk capacity without formatting the system without reinstalling it? "Extended volume" is generally the reverse process of "compressed volume". The use of "extended volume" has strict limits, and only the adjacent disk on the left side of the compressed volume can expand the volume. “Extended volume  Another function is that when you compress a part of the space from the disk and want to undo it, you can use the extended volume to reverse the operation. Specifically speaking below.

1, first computer right → management.

2, enter the disk management.

3, here, our E disk has a lot of available space, so how to put a part of the empty space of the E disk "lending" to the D disk?

[Note] The extended volume can only be expanded by using the compressed volume compressed by the adjacent right disk, but the C disk is the system disk, and it cannot be borrowed from the D disk. Using this method, it is impossible to perform lossless expansion on the win7 C drive.

So the use limit of the extended volume is strict. In actual use, you can use this method to lend the E disk space to D and F to L. (The picture is just a demonstration of the usage rules of the extended volume, please do not have the disk space in the view)

4, below we first go out from the E disk & ldquo; cut & rdquo; out of 50G space. (Just demonstrate how to compress the volume, the reader should not compress the D drive when the operation! If the compressed D drive finally has to re-expand the D drive back.) In the disk management interface, first select the E drive (there is a slash display when selected) , as shown in the figure). Then right click → compressed volume.

5, then the prompt is querying the compressed space … … waiting for a moment.

6. In the pop-up compression window, fill in the space that you want to "cut" in the red box as shown in the figure. For example, if you want to cut out 50G, fill in 50X1024=51200. digital. Then click on Compress and continue to wait for a while.

7. At this time we see a green color block, which is the unallocated space of more than 50 G.

8, this time select D drive, right click → expand the volume.

9. Click on the Expand Volume Wizard and click “Next” & rdquo;→“Next”→“Complete”.

10, at this time we found that the D disk space increased to 500G. Successful expansion!

Note: win7 C disk wants not to reinstall the system expansion seems to be unable to use this method to expand, can only rely on the software such as "partition assistant".
