Microsoft announced that it officially ended its support for Windows Server 2003

in July this year. Microsoft officially stopped mainstream support for Win7. Now Microsoft has announced that it will end its support for Windows Server 2003 in July this year.

Microsoft recommends that companies that are still using Windows Server 2003 should be ready to upgrade.

Windows Server 2003 Microsoft Technical Support Services will be completed by the end of July 2015. Microsoft recommends that customers upgrade to Windows Server 2012 R2.

This will allow Microsoft to serve the enterprise market through the cloud, such as big data, organizational savings and increased response times.

Microsoft said that the software and underlying hardware implementation and integration in Windows Server 2003 is not as efficient as the current generation of applications, nor does it support higher mobility and cloud services.

SMBs now have compelling choices to upgrade to the digital age.

With a powerful next-generation server, they can continue to build, deploy and maintain internal applications and data while leveraging the cloud to get resources or combining internal and cloud technologies to meet their needs.

Since many small and medium-sized businesses rely on outdated technology, there are some reasons to upgrade now, but it remains to be seen whether Microsoft has provided a convincing and sufficient reason to do so.

Upgrade involves training, funding, and willingness. For the user, this is not a simple change in software, it can mean a completely different business model.
