In the remote installation service of Windows 2000 Server, only the remote installation of Windows 2000 Professional is supported, and the installation of Windows 2000 Server series is not supported. In the remote installation service of Windows Server 2003, in addition to remote installation support for Windows XP Professional, remote installation of all versions of Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000 is supported.

Installation of RIS Server

On a Windows Server 2003 server, install a DHCP server, upgrade Windows Server 2003 to Active Directory Active Directory Server, and log in to the server as a system administrator. .

1. Add RIS Remote Installation Service

2. Copy the Windows XP installation files to the RIS server

After re-entering Windows Server 2003, type risetup from the run, run the RIS configuration program, and select the default values ​​to install.

Authorize RIS Server

If the server is Windows 2000 Server, you need to authorize the RIS server. In Windows Server 2003, you do not need to authorize the DHCP server separately. This is done automatically by the risetup program.
