MSN Chinese website officially "stops service", the page is switched from news information to popular site label

Computer store news: MSN Chinese network officially "stop service", the page is switched from news information to popular site label. So far, this has been in the Chinese market for more than 11 years, claiming that Microsoft's information portal for white-collar users has left.

Time is back to May 26, 2005. On the same day, MSN Messenger was revised and MSN Chinese Network officially entered the Chinese market. In order to obtain an Internet license (ICP license), and a Yahoo China portal, Microsoft and a Chinese company established a network communication technology company to provide information services in accordance with a 1:1 equity ratio. In order to successfully enter China and achieve localization, MSN Chinese Network has always adopted the channel outsourcing model. An MSN executive in China once said that the choice of outsourcing is to “make professional people do professional things” to avoid the risk of content editing, but Yahoo China and MSN Chinese have been shut down. According to reports, in recent years, MSN has made several adjustments: In March last year, Microsoft announced business adjustments and transferred its MSN department to the Windows department; last June, MSN Chinese network was redesigned and revised. But these measures are not capable of turning the tide. First of all, China's online media is fiercely competitive, and MSN Chinese is overwhelmed. In China, the commercial portal has already formed a pattern dominated by Sina, Sohu, Netease and Tencent. In the past 11 years, MSN Chinese has no more than one local portal. As the development of the Internet moves from the PC to the mobile, the portal has experienced different degrees of decline. In contrast, the MSN Chinese network has few features and lacks innovation. Secondly, MSN products have always been the focus of Microsoft's attention, and the resources and attention they put into it are far from enough. Take MSN instant messaging software as an example. After entering the Chinese market in 2005, after being overtaken by QQ, it officially withdrew from China in October 2014. Some analysts believe that after the exit of Messenger, the shutdown of MSN Chinese network is only a matter of time. Third, industry insiders also speculate that this may be related to policy. In February of this year, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology promulgated the Regulations on the Administration of Network Publishing Services. The new regulations clarify that Sino-foreign joint ventures, Sino-foreign cooperative operations and foreign-funded operations may not engage in online publishing services. As a foreign company, Microsoft may have policy risks in doing content and socializing in China. It is reported that Microsoft invested in developing the Chinese market last year, providing a series of products including win10 and cloud computing, and established the largest R&D center outside the United States in China. Although Microsoft has contracted consumer-oriented web services in China, the company is actively expanding its cloud computing business in the country. Analysts believe that with the adjustment of Microsoft's overall strategy, the decline of the Internet portal model, and the rise of mobile information, it is a logical necessity for MSN Chinese network to be abandoned.
