Win9 will remove the start menu Add virtual desktop?

Computer Store News: Users have not been very acquainted with Microsoft's Windows 8/8.1 system, especially after Win8 removed the start menu and complained more from users. Therefore, Microsoft pays more attention to Win9, which is the development of the legendary code "Threshold" system. However, the news from WinBeta said that Win9 still has no response to the user's voice in the development, and added the start menu that has been abolished.

For Microsoft, the new system is closer to the requirements of the mobile touch-screen era, and it is the focus of the menu. It is not so important in its plan. Because Microsoft believes that all operations can be done by search, the existence of the start menu is not suitable for the requirements of the touch screen era, and does not meet the needs of future integration of Microsoft systems.

Microsoft has set buttons to feed back the user's commands in the corner position. When pressed, common buttons such as search, share, device and settings will appear, which is convenient for users to realize their functions.

Because different people have different preferences, it is not good or bad to comment on the removal of the start menu. However, in the long run, the touch screen interface is still attached to the start menu. It is not suitable for modern UI interfaces.

Currently Threshold is still in the Alpha interface, which means that the subsequent modification space is still very large, although the start menu has been removed in this version, but once the decision makers think it is necessary to add If you follow, Win9 will still return to the user's field of vision. Everything depends on the decisions of the decision maker and the designer.

Adding Virtual Desktops

There are also rumors that Microsoft is considering introducing virtual desktops in Windows Threshold.

According to Neowin, Microsoft is currently testing virtual desktop features on Windows 9. Users can create new desktops by simply clicking a button on the desktop taskbar, and they can use the keyboard shortcuts to flexibly switch between these desktops.

Virtual desktops (the above picture is a virtual desktop in Mac OS X Leopard) can help users organize desktops to reduce the clutter of the desktop, for example, you can create a virtual desktop running a mail client and a virtual desktop running a browser. Then switch between the desktops.

Since both Ubuntu and OS X include virtual desktops, Windows Threshold's virtual desktops are likely to work with both strengths and are similar to Ubuntu.

In any case, Threshold is still in development, the functionality is not fixed, and the virtual desktop is not sure if it will be included in the final release.

From the current news, there are already screenshots of different Threshold versions being revealed. It can be seen that Microsoft has not only prepared a plan, so some of the messages released at present are contradictory. As a result, Threshold will be frozen. For what kind of form, let us wait and see in a few months.
