The number of Promoted apps will double in the Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Computer Store News: Perhaps the most despised feature in the Windows 10 system is advertising. They will appear in your app list, lock screen and even the start menu. What's even more tragic is that Microsoft plans to double the number of Promoted apps in the Start menu in the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, which will be launched this summer. More precisely, the number of recommended apps will increase from 5 to 10. At the same time, the number of “fixed” apps (native apps already pinned in the start menu) will drop from 17 to 12.

Promoted Apps is considered by Microsoft to be a "programmable tile", although it looks like this app is pre-installed on your PC, but in After clicking, you will be redirected to the Store to download and install. As you can see from the slide below, some apps are actually pre-installed on your PC, the most obvious of which is the Candy Crush game, which Microsoft has promised to pre-install on Windows 10 PCs. Another familiar tile is Microsoft's Solitaire Collection. Naturally, all of these applications can be easily uninstalled and chosen not to be pinned on the Start menu.
