Win10 will natively support ASS, SSA and SRT subtitle formats

Computer Store News: Today, Windows Insider leader Gabriel Aul confirmed that Windows 10 will natively support ASS, SSA and SRT subtitle formats when answering questions from users. And this is one of our long-awaited Windows native features, and now we can finally get rid of third parties and fully embrace the native player.

SRT is a SubRip text subtitle format, which is the most popular text subtitle. Its production specification is simple, and a time code + a subtitle makes the editing very convenient. SSA is a more advanced subtitle format that directly covers subtitles in video and is widely used in Japanese anime movies. ASS is a more advanced subtitle script format than SSA.

All three are the most commonly used subtitle formats, and we are happy to see that Microsoft can provide Windows 10 with native support for them. Microsoft has previously confirmed the good news that Windows 10 natively supports the MKV video format, and those who love to download video from the P2P network are really blessed in the future!
