Win10 Spartan Browser: Historic Breakthrough

Computer Store News: At the Win10 conference in January, Microsoft showed off the latest Spartan browser. Although this new browser has not officially met with the public, its popularity has already exploded. The reason is that everyone has high hopes for Win10's new browser, and its appearance will also be a historic breakthrough.

This browser, codenamed "Sparta", will run on all Win10 devices, from smartphones, tablets to PCs, etc. "One can't be less". Not only that, Spartan browser is also considered to be "predecessors" IE browser "heir". The IE team created a new rendering engine "EdgeHTML.dll", which will give users a better browsing experience.

However, this does not mean that IE will officially retire, this new engine will also be used in IE. Only IE's security issues will have a higher priority, and bug fixes will remain the focus.

At present, the core mission of the IE team is to make Sparta compatible with the top 9000 websites in the world, which have 88% of the world's network utilization. The IE team won't let it meet users until the Spartan browser's compatibility pass rate exceeds that of IE and other major browsers.

But many other sites ranked after 9000 don't have to worry, Microsoft is not giving up on these sites. Microsoft engineers are using new methods to solve the compatibility problems that are common to Spartan browsers, specifically the following:

Traditional vs. Hyundai: The IE team found that when Sparta used the Trident engine compatibility mode, it would cause the page to be displayed incorrectly, making compatibility difficult to measure.

Compatibility Browsing List: This is a function of the traditional IE browser, but it is difficult to maintain, and it is not ideal for the website after the top 9000.

X-UA-Compatibility: This setting makes it possible to force websites to run in older file mode, but these sites rely on this setting even in newer versions of IE when they give other When the Modern browser provides a new code path, it gains an unfair advantage.

Standard Concern: In the Spartan browser, the main focus is on adhering to Web standards. This includes adding HTML5 functionality and trying to span the gap between different browsers. The new standards include adaptive HLS and DASH video streams, better WebGL 3D rendering, and related game features that will be demonstrated at GDC 2015.

The IE team realized that in order to make Web developers more comfortable with website compatibility issues, the key is not to use any browser, but to break through the IE tradition that has existed for 20 years. And to build a brand new engine.

Engineers also studied the possibility of using WebKit, but they found the idea to be both time consuming and not particularly advantageous. Therefore, they developed the Edge rendering engine, which provides an ideal experience for Win10 users.

Not only that, but the IE team also uses the Bing engine to help with tracking and bug fixes, which can solve such problems as a whole, not just for cases. According to previous news, Microsoft is committed to providing a Win10 system that is “always on”, so Win10 will keep the functionality of the Spartan browser updated.

If IE is a browser that turns people into love, then Sparta will be able to become a browser that can "long love". Now it seems that Microsoft is striving for excellence in this browser. I hope that when Sparta officially meets us, it will be as good as the one mentioned in the article, and truly achieve a breakthrough in history.
