Win10 installation tutorial: How to change the search button to search bar

Computer Store News: In the latest Win10 preview 9879 released by Microsoft last week, a new feature was to turn the search button into a search bar. However, this feature is locked by default, but you can unlock this feature by modifying the registry.

After the change, you can right-click on the taskbar to display the search bar and search icon, or stop the search button function altogether. The specific steps are as follows:

1. Enter regedit in the Start menu search bar or “Run” and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.

2, find the following keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Search (if there is no search item, right click on the CurrentVersion to create a new item, rename it to Search)

3. Create a new DWORD value, name EnableSearchBox and set the key value to 1. If this key is present, change its value from 0 to 1.

4. After logging out, log in again and the new search bar will appear on the taskbar.
