The user cried: Win8.1 Update caused the failure of Win8.1 activation

Computer store news: Last week, Microsoft freely pushed Win8.1 Update to all Win8.1 platforms through Windows Update. However, some users did not upgrade smoothly, not only failed to install (codes 80070020, 80073712), but also caused the activation of Win8.1 system to fail.

According to foreign media Softpedia, many existing Win8.1 platform users have encountered Win8.1 Update installation failure problems, but more serious problems are behind.

After restarting the Windows 8.1 system, the user unexpectedly found that the Win8.1 popup "requires reactivation", even if a new license key is entered, it cannot be activated online. This also means that Windows 8.1 retail users have only a 30-day trial period, and will not be able to use the current Win8.1 system features after the deadline.

Most of the affected users who have failed to install the Win8.1 Update before, generally encounter 80073712, 80070020 error codes.

When the Windows Update configuration fails, Windows 8.1 will automatically roll back, that is, restore to the restore point created by the previous system, but rarely encounter the failure of Win8.1 activation information.

As of now, Microsoft has not announced any related fixes.
