Win8 Developer: One Windows turned out to be

Computer Store News: Recently Microsoft CEO proposed the concept of One Windows (one Windows). In this interview, ZDNet also discussed the concept issue with Terry Myerson. In this regard, Terry Myerson answered this.

“ I think the most important is the unified developer platform, cross-IoT smart devices, mobile phones, tablets, PCs, Xbox, PPI, cloud computing. Such a unified platform and a consistent development approach are also more attractive to developers to engage in Windows ecosystem development and make users happy. ”

From Terry Myerson's discourse, it's not hard to judge that One Windows's philosophy is to suggest a unified developer ecosystem that covers Microsoft's existing and future products, including existing ones. Win8.1 Update, Windows Phone, Xbox, and future IoT, cloud computing and other products.

At present, Microsoft has taken the first step to implement the Windows Phone and Windows 8.1 universal application solution. Developers only need to compile once, and can simultaneously generate APP applications corresponding to the two platforms, greatly reducing the compilation. Cost and time.

Last week, Microsoft announced that the Windows Library for JavaScript (WinJS) project source code was open source, using HTML5 and JavaScript's powerful network technology to achieve cross-platform. WinJS 1.0 and 2.0 support the development of Win8/Win8.1 Modern applications.

Soon, this technology will also support the development of web applications, WP applications, Xbox platform applications, and even applications for Android and iPhone platforms.

When Microsoft's WinJS gradually became the preferred platform for cross-platform compilation, it also meant the formation of a new unified development ecosystem. In this ecosystem, developers do not have to entangle the compiled language and tools of different platforms, do not worry about whether APP applications can be cross-platform migration, not to worry about whether the OS system is closed or semi-open (except for some functions).

Well, 2014 will be a year of rapid development of APP applications, at least Win8/WP developers will be brave.
