XP share fell sharply, Win8.1 catches up with Vista

Computer store news: Net Applications latest data shows that Windows XP market share has begun to decline again.

Net Applications data shows that Windows XP's market share in December 2013 fell to 27.84%, a sharp drop of 3.38% compared to November. This is obviously good news for Microsoft. Microsoft has been convinced that more Windows XP users will switch to Win7, Win8 or Win8.1 before Windows XP officially retire on April 8.

Windows 8.1 market share surpassed Windows Vista, which was launched in January 2007. Win8.1's PC market share rose to 3.5% in December and Windows Vista was 3.46%. Windows 8 is still ahead of Win 8.1, at 6.65%. The total market share of Win8 and Win8.1 was 10.15%, an increase of 9.3% from November.

Windows 7 is still the leader of personal computer operating systems, with a market share of 49.26% in December, up from 46.64% in November.
