"Kinect's father" is developing Windows wearable device

Computer store news: Microsoft's "Kinect's father" is currently working on a wearable device project for the company, familiar with the Microsoft device program source revealed that Xbox Alex Kidman, general manager of the incubation project, is currently leading Microsoft's wearable computing program and letting custom Windows run on smaller screens.

Kipman previously led a series of projects at Microsoft, including the creation of Windows Ultimate Edition and the development of Kinect sensors. Foreign media ZDNet first reported earlier this year that Kipman focused on the development of wearable devices.

It is understood that Kipman's team currently tests and prototypes some wearable device prototypes, including glasses and smart watches. Earlier, it was said that Microsoft is currently testing a smart watch with a 1.5-inch display and a Surface connector, as well as developing a glasses similar to Google Glass. It is said that Kipman and his team are also designing the Kinect Glasses concept (Project Fortaleza) and testing whether Microsoft can incubate them successfully and form a real product. The design prototype of Kinect Glasses was exposed online last year along with an Xbox One program document. For now, the document at the time was basically accurate, and Kinect Glasses was described as “a hands-free device” for Wifi and 4G connectivity, supporting augmented reality.

The head of Microsoft's equipment division emphasizes the importance of wearable devices to the company

Julie ·, head of Microsoft's equipment division; Julie Larson-Green also recently stressed The future of wearable devices is important to the company. “Sensors will become more and more important in your life,” Larsen Green said at the UBS Global Technology Conference in November. “ Some of the things we've been discussing will become reality —— you can see that users are wearing the right equipment on their wrists to do something interesting. & rdquo; Larsen Green guesses that future devices can read your heart rate and remind you to train every day or to detect your location and remind you that the bus is late. “Like the mouse is an invention, the touch screen is also an invention, and this will be called the next new way of interaction,” Larsen Green said. “This is why we have been focusing on the natural user interface and working hard in this area. "Larsen Green is currently leading the restructured Microsoft equipment division, and she briefly led the Windows department until the reorganization of Microsoft's new operating system division." According to previous reports, Microsoft is also currently focusing on developing a single version of Windows that can be used for all devices, rather than separate systems for desktop PCs, tablets, phones and Xbox One as they are now. Larsen Green has previously hinted that Microsoft's core operating system team is currently developing this single system, and a separate team is developing for related accessories. Joe · Joe Belfiore is currently working on PC, mobile and tablet development, and Kipman's team is said to focus on Windows running on wearable computing devices. Microsoft's wearable device development work is clearly at an early stage, so we should not see the results in a short period of time.
