Win10 preview version 10122 update content list

Computer store news: Today Microsoft has officially pushed the Win10 preview version 10122 Express Edition update to Windows insider. Pushed Windows 10 PC Preview The Build 10122 update includes improvements to the Start menu, Continuum features, and the Microsoft Edge browser. Gabriel Aul, head of Microsoft Windows Insider, details the new content of Build 10122 in today's official blog, as follows:

Start menu and Continuum mode: About the start menu and Continuum updates Content, Qiao Beifeng has been shown in the Build conference. The new version adjusts the details of the start menu, including moving the file explorer and settings buttons to the bottom left corner, aligning with all apps and power buttons. At the same time, the context menu of the item in the start menu is updated. In addition, the full-screen start screen in the upper right corner of the start menu and the toggle button of the start menu are removed, but the user can adjust it in the personalization —— start menu setting. We do this based on the consideration that for large-sized devices, such as desktops, laptops, and all-in-ones, the default start menu is the most appropriate, and it is not necessary to always display the button. At the same time, this also avoids confusion with the tablet mode, because some users may think that setting the start menu to full screen is to enter the tablet mode, but it is not. At the same time, removing the button will result in less white space on the top right side.

Speaking of tablet mode, we have also continued to improve the Continuum mode. When you switch to tablet mode, the left panel will automatically shrink, but you can restore it by clicking the icon in the upper left. The start menu tile area is larger and easier for users to access, similar to the Windows 8.1 interface. We will continue to improve these experiences and everyone will see new changes in future releases.

Microsoft Edge Browser: The Edge browser in Build 10122 adds a new tab page that Qiao Beifeng demonstrated at the Build 2015 conference. The layout of the new tab has changed dramatically, including the top site, recommended apps, and content from MSN.

The new design is designed to help you get to the next target website as soon as possible. The content in the new tab can be slightly customized in “Settings”. We're still testing several different versions of the new tabs to learn more about how users interact with Edge, and we've set it up as the Edge browser homepage to get as much data and feedback as possible, so please be active Give us feedback.

We've also added other features to the Edge, such as InPrivate mode, pinning websites to the Start menu, history browsing, new reading angle icons, and audio play icons for tabs.

Build 10122 also includes improvements to the Edge browser's Chakra engine. In all 64-bit browsers that participate in Google Octane 2.0 and Apple Jet Stream benchmarks, Edge's running scores rank first. . We also enabled the industry-leading ECMAScript 6 scripting language for Edge. The details can be found in the Microsoft Edge Developer Blog.

Windows 10 default application operation mode change: In Win8.1, the traditional Win32 application can call the dialog window associated with the change file for the user to select the default application. However, the Windows Store app cannot call this selection window. When the app is installed, the user will pop up a notification. After clicking the notification, the user can select the default app.

In Windows 10, both Win32 apps and general Windows apps do not call reminders that change the default configuration, which is only available on Windows systems. You will maintain full control over your default experience while reducing the noise caused by such prompts.

For example, if you enter a file manager after installing a new photo editor and double-click to open a JPG file, Windows will pop up a prompt to change your default image application to a new one. Therefore, such prompts will only pop up when necessary, rather than popping up when an application is set or launched occasionally.

We also need to do some compatibility with classic Windows applications (Win32 applications), and you may see a new dialog box before the Win32 application asks you to set a default dialog. However, as time passes, since the uploaded app will match the new Windows 10 model by default, you should not see such dialogs in the future.

Finally, for those who have upgraded from Windows 7/8.1 to Windows 10, we will provide you with the opportunity to upgrade your previous default app to a new, universal Windows app during the initial setup phase.

Redesigned "Insider Hub": The "Insider Hub" application uses many other common Windows application designs in this update. The homepage is more concise, and the “Quests” section is displayed in the center of the homepage.

You can easily browse through different content through the menu, the upper left corner is your profile page, “notification” and “reminder” the distribution of the plates is more orderly. You can also find known issues more easily and browse the achievements badges that have been achieved and that can be achieved.
