Kantar: Windows Phone market share has declined overall, only the Japanese market has improved

Computer Store News: Kantar WorldPanel has released a smartphone sales share report for the three months ending February 2016. Expected, Windows Phone sales share fell across the board. In five major European markets, sales share has fallen to 5.9%, down 4.2% year-on-year, which is an alarming decline. In traditional markets such as France and Italy, the share of Windows Phone sales has been cut in half.

In the US, sales share has hit a low of 2.6%. In Australia, sales fell by 5.8%. Windows Phone has only grown in the Japanese market, as some vendors have recently introduced new Windows 10 Mobile. Lumia's sales data for the fourth quarter of 2015 was terrible, but Microsoft changed its mobile strategy, and we have already reported that things will get worse next.
