Win8 IE10 defaults to Flash

Computer Store News: Microsoft and Adobe have IE version of Flash built into Windows 8 and Windows RT system, Flash software upgrade is also pushed by Windows Update; but at first IE10 does not enable Flash by default. Instead, take the "white list" mechanism. Things will change from Tuesday, US time.

Microsoft announced on the IE10 blog that IE10 Flash will be enabled by default in Windows 8 and Windows RT tomorrow. Because Microsoft found that the vast majority of Flash-enabled sites are already compatible with IE10 in Win8/RT, it also optimizes touch experience, performance, and battery life.

Microsoft said, "After thousands of websites have been tested for Flash compatibility, only less than 4% of websites now have incompatibility. The core experience of these sites also requires ActiveX controls other than Flash. Therefore, Microsoft's new Compatibility View list will block a small number of sites with poor experience. These sites are not compatible with the Windows touch experience or rely on other plugins. That is, Microsoft will change the "white list" for Flash to "blacklist" strategy.
